Use a spline roller to replace it with new weatherstripping. Retract the finger pulls and push the insert through the notch. Storm windows have a number of small plastic and metal parts that are easily broken. The spline is according to the thickness of the glass.

The spline forms the seal between the metal and the glass. A double pane window may tend to fog if moisture gets between its layers and a plastic pane will yellow over time. In situations like these a repair is much less expensive than a full replacement window. In storm doors the glass of the windows is separated from the door frame by a glazing spline.

To install new glass on a mid view door retract the finger pulls of the bottom panel as you slide it into place before release. Slip the glass with the seal into the groove in the frame pressing the side pieces back into position and resetting the top piece. For the top window insert the top corners into the track and lower the insert line up to the finger pull with the notch on the frame. Be patient you want to reuse the spline so don t rush it.

Replace the corner pins. A glass repair will often be easier to do if you remove the sash. Install the rubber seal around the edges of the new pane. Pull the broken glass from the frame along with the rubber seal that folds over its edge.
