Apply new glazing and set window glass use a caulking gun and squeeze a thin layer of window glazing compound in the primed grooves.
How to replace door window pane.
Continue pushing down until the glass is centered in the opening and about 1 8 inch of putty remains between the face of the glass and the rabbet.
Then press the blade down with your finger and pull the knife along that strip of putty to flatten it out.
With the help of a friend set the new window glass in place.
If your window pane is glazed follow steps 1 and 2 above and then use the following steps.
Hold your putty knife at a 45 degree angle with the glass and tilt it to touch the wood on the window sash.
You then clean the frame and prepare it.
Peel off any excess putty that comes off.
To replace a pane of glass you must remove the old pane and if the pane breaks in the process thoroughly clean around the window to remove glass shards.
You can then scrape old glaze off with a painters knife.
Press the new window glass lightly to bed it.
If any voids show under the glass pull out the pane add more putty and start over.
Wiggle the pane into the putty while applying even pressure with the tips of your fingers.
