Weather sealing a garage door usually involves a simple process of adding or replacing the bottom door seal and the weatherstripping on the stop molding along the sides and top of the door.
1 remove the original weather stripping around your exterior door.
Apply an adhesive remover to any remaining.
Reseal your exterior door with new weatherstripping and keep your home comfortable.
Do not release the garage door pressure before this time.
This takes 5 mins to do and costs nothing.
It keeps the garage door pressed up against the outside rubber seal so cold air is not blowing through the gap.
It may also include adding thin weatherstripping between the door panels if you want to make the door as airtight as possible.
Open the door then measure the bottom of the door using a tape measure.
Close your garage door and allow it to remain closed for a period of 24 to 48 hours.
Make sure that you face the inside of the door as you take this measurement.
